ABSTRACT
A hipersensibilidade (hipertesia) dentinária é caracterizada por dor de curta duração, aguda e súbita, sugerida pela exposição dentinária em resposta a estímulos térmicos, evaporativos, táteis, osmóticos ou químicos, que não pode ser atribuída a nenhuma outra forma de defeito ou patologia dental. A etiologia é multifatorial, podendo levar à exposição dos túbulos dentinários: escovação inadequada, interferências oclusais, uso de abrasivos ou erosão por dietas ácidas, técnica incorreta de preparo cavitário e/ou do método restaurador, terapia periodontal, contaminação bacteriana, recessão gengival, entre outros. Todos os tratamentos apresentados são eficazes em reduzir a hipersensibilidade dentinária, porém com defeitos diferentes. O objetivo deste trabalho é o de enfatizar, por meio de uma revisão de literatura, os diversos aspectos relacionados com a hipersensibilidade dentinária, para que o cirurgião-dentista tenha uma conduta clínica segura e eficaz: aspectos clínicos, etiologia, mecanismo de desencadeamento bem como os tipos de tratamentos e a efetividade destes.
The dentin hypersensitivity (hyperaesthesia) is characterized by pain, short-term, acute and sudden suggested by exposure dentin in response to thermal stimuli, evaporativos, táteis, osmóticos or chemicals that can not be atributed to any other form of dental disease or defect. The aetiology is multifatorial may lead to the exposure of tubular dentinários: inappropriate brushing, interference oclusais, use of abrasives or eroded by acidic diets, bad preparation technique cavity ans/or the method restorer, periodontal therapy, bacterial contamination, gingival recession, among others. All the treatments are effective in reducing presented dentin hypersensitivity, but with different effects. The objective of this work will emphasize, through a review of the literature, various aspects related to the dentin hypersensitivity, so that the surgeon-dentist has a safe and effective conduct clinical: clinical aspects, etiology, triggering mechanism, as well as the types of treatments and the effectiveness of them.
